ABB China asked us to help them with the setup of their new mega-factory. With good project management and partnership between ABB and Bossard, we were able to increase efficiency while decreasing processing costs.

The Challenge: Finding Efficient Solutions for a New Factory

Our customer, ABB Robotics China, moved their factory to a new location. Until then, they had faced the following challenges within their production facility:

  • arduous manual material management process
  • no material transparency
  • limited forecast options

We were asked to design a solution for the new factory.

Our Solution: Ensuring Material Availability

After a profound analysis and calculations, we equipped five supermarkets at the customer's central storage location with our SmartBin Cloud solution. This fully automated system ensures material availability, thus relieving employees from having to worry about the availability of materials.

In addition, we installed Bossard Code systems at 17 points of use within workstations. Bossard Code simplifies the reordering of regularly used items. Thanks to these systems, ABB was able to increase its efficiency considerably.
