The Challenge: Centralizing Preferred Suppliers

Several years ago, Alstom decided to centralize its “preferred suppliers” list. At the time, we provided fasteners to only one of their plants in France and therefore did not qualify for the list. That changed when we presented our 3-level concept consisting of

Not only did we make the list, soon we achieved LP150 supplier status, which Alstom Transport awards only to selected companies for excellent quality and highly innovative, cost-effective products.

Our Solution: The 3-Level Concept

In the meantime, we have implemented the 3-level concept at seven Alstom Transport plants. The SmartBin logistic system automates ordering even when volumes are extremely high or fluctuating, and ensures reliable availability. Our engineers also work with Alstom directly at the factory to find better fastening solutions, resulting in higher-quality products and more cost-effective production processes.
