
The Challenge: Lack of Visibility and Too Many Suppliers
Stolz deals with various different suppliers for around 2'000 items. At the time, one supplier delivered directly to three Kanban systems located in the warehouse and production. The other suppliers delivered to the main warehouse with an order or a good receiving. Thus, the warehouse team delivered most of the components from the main warehouse to the production site with production orders. The main challenges for Stolz were:
- No visibility of the stock in production
- If a part was missing in production, the user walked from production to the warehouse desk
- Need for space to increase the production line
- Too many different suppliers
