Jacob® cable glands are used in various areas to connect cables or conduits in electrical switchgear, control systems, and control cabinets. Cable glands are particularly crucial in demanding environments such as sea water, salt spray, dust, oil and gas, fluctuating temperatures, or other hazardous areas, where they protect the cable connection.  

Jacob® offers two major series of cable glands: PERFECT and WADI.

The PERFECT cable gland’s lamellar sealing insert offers a large clamping range. In addition to a large selection of standard versions, two different EMC versions are available. Protection classes are IP68 and IP69K; the size range spans M12 to M63, with eight different thread sizes.

PERFECT plus Ex

PERFECT plus Ex cable glands are intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. Their internal double sealing protects cables in both indoor and outdoor applications.

WADI Cable Gland Family  

The Jacob® WADI family is particularly suited for applications that require high chemical, UV, heat, or cold resistance. WADI cable glands are equipped with a special two-part sealing insert that ensures even compression and a large clamping range. Their protection class is IP66, IP67, or IP69; the size range spans from M12 to M63, with eight different thread sizes. All WADI cable glands are also available as EMC versions.  

WADIone 

A Jacob WADIone metal cable gland for mechanical engineering and electrical and electronic enclosures.

The WADIone cable gland is suitable for mechanical engineering, electrical and electronic enclosures, and certain outdoor applications. The sealing insert ensures premium cable protection. The WADIone series is available in both brass and stainless steel.

WADIrail 

A Jacob WADIrail cable gland specifically developed for use in rail vehicles, electrical installations, and tunnel construction.

This brass cable gland is equipped with a sealing insert that meets the highest fire resistance requirements according to UL 94 V-0. The application temperature range is between -60 °C and +100 °C. The WADIrail is often used in rail vehicles, electrical installations, and tunnel construction, as well as other outdoor applications where weather resistance, fire resistance, and UV protection are crucial.

WADIheat 

A Jacob WADIheat metal cable gland for extreme environments such as high temperatures and outdoor applications.

WADIheat is made for high temperatures and temperature fluctuations from -40 °C to +200 °C. This cable gland is the ideal solution for extreme environments like heating systems. The dome nut and gland body are available in both brass and stainless steel.

PERFECT FIX

A Jacob Perfect fix plastic quick cable gland without threads for quick installation from one side, saving time and money.

The quick cable gland without threads. The PERFECT FIX is a simple and efficient cable gland that is particularly useful in tight spaces. It can be fitted from one side of the enclosure/housing without the need for additional lock nuts. The quick and easy assembly also saves time and money.

KADP Cable Entry Plate

A Jacob KADP cable entry plate used to insert and seal cables in enclosures, machines, and control cabinets.

The KADP cable entry plate is used to insert and seal cables in enclosures, machines, and control cabinets. It is highly flexible and can be used for diverse applications. The plate is perfect especially where space is limited, as several cables can be inserted. The optimal arrangement of the cable entries in the KADP ensures a high packing density.   

Installing the KADP plate into an enclosure happens with a single click. Then you simply push the cables through the membranes and the job is done – effortless and time-saving.

KADL Cable Entry System

Jacob’s KADL is the perfect solution when you need to insert pre-assembled cables into an enclosure. The KADL is installed with just one click – easy and time-saving. In addition, the KADL can be enlarged and adapted. The modular design allows a step-by-step installation of 5 to 25 cables in one housing wall, ensuring flexibility. A clamping range of 3 to 32.5 mm can be covered with just 16 sealing grommets, which provide a high level of strain relief.

Sealing Grommets

Jacob® sealing grommets provide a large cable sealing range. Their “pushout” membrane ensures that there is always a round opening. In addition, they have a movable sleeve around the center of the openings, which adapts to the cable and provides an excellent seal, even when the cable is moved. Cables can pass through very well at an angle. The design ensures that the sealing grommets stay in place, even for the installation of large cables.

Venting Elements

Waterproof enclosures with high protection grades IP67 or IP68 for outdoor use are not automatically sealed against vapor and humidity. To avoid negative pressure, high humidity, and condensation inside the enclosure, you therefore need to ensure continuous ventilation and equalize the pressure. This can be achieved with a venting element.  

The body of the venting element is made from flameproof polyamide PA6 or stainless steel. The inside contains a high-quality, breathable, and watertight PES membrane, which provides continuous ventilation as well as pressure exchange and protects the enclosure against humidity.
